Massive Tornado Obliterates Homes, School Near Oklahoma City

Hundreds of homes and businesses were flattened by a twister that was at least a mile wide and carried winds of up to 200 mph. The tornado, which plowed over two schools and a hospital, killed at least 51 people, the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office said. Emergency workers were sifting through what was left of Plaza Tower Elementary School, searching for children in the rubble.
