The Texas band Cadillac Sky is on the rise. Its latest album, Letters in the Deep, was produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach; the disc's bluegrass-infused rock 'n' roll manages to incorporate delicate folk tendencies and the boisterousness of an old-fashioned tent revival. You can feel the honesty in the band's music, especially live.

Cadillac Sky's members recently stopped by KUT's Studio 1A to talk sports and their Texas roots, and even get educated about their opening act later that night: Austin blues veteran W.C. Clark. In this performance, David Mayfield (who proudly claims to look like "Jude Law with a beard") handles guitar, Bryan Simpson plays the mandolin and fiddle, Matt Menefee mans the banjo and piano, Ross Holmes plays the violin and Andy "Panda" Moritz is on bass.
