Laura Boosinger's Set List

  • "Cluck Old Hen"
  • "Dixie Darlin"
  • "Cannonball"
  • "Baby I’m Blue"

Justin Townes Earle has moved all over the United States, soaking up the music of each region. In 2009, he was named "Best Emerging Artist" by the Americana Music Association and followed 2009's Midnight at the Movies with the critically acclaimed Harlem River Blues. Earle is joined here by bassist Bryn Davies and fiddle player Josh Hedley.

North Carolina's Laura Boosinger is an accomplished banjo player, singer and preserver of traditional, old-time music. She has been featured in Scotland, Ireland and England, taking the music straight from their sources and singing them around the world.

For this set recorded in historic Bristol on the border of Tennessee and Virginia, Boosinger is accompanied by Josh Goforth, a graduate of nearby Eastern Tennessee State University's bluegrass program. The traditional number "Cluck Old Hen," AP Carter's "Cannonball," and "Baby I'm Blue, all appear on the duo's latest CD, Most of All. Boosinger recorded another Carter tune, "Dixie Darlin'," on her album Down the Road.

This Mountain Stage performance was originally published Oct 13, 2010.
