Making their third appearance on Mountain Stage since 2007, Connecticut rockers The Alternate Routes return with songs from the band's latest CD, Lately. Led by singer Tim Warren and guitarist Eric Donnelly, the Routes have a harmony-rich vocal style and songs packed with memorable melodies.

Longtime bassist Mike Sembos is joined by Stephen Chopek on drums and Jay Hirth on keys and piano. For "Raincoat," they are assisted by guitarist Michael Lipton and vocalist Julie Adams from the Mountain Stage band. The song was written "between Nashville and Connecticut, which - for a significant amount of time - is West Viriginia," Warren tells the audience gathered in Charleston.

This Mountain Stage performance was originally published Nov. 23, 2010.
