North Hills is the debut album from the California folk-rock band Dawes. Named after the group's hometown, the record draws instant comparisons to the alt-country sounds of Buffalo Springfield, The Band and others associated with Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon — where, coincidentally enough, Dawes recorded North Hills. The opening song, "Western Skyline," was named one of the best songs of 2009 by Rolling Stone magazine.

Led by songwriter Taylor Goldsmith on guitar and lead vocals, Dawes also features Wylie Gelber on bass, Alex Casuoff on piano and vocals, and Griffin Goldsmith on drums and vocals.

This Mountain Stage concert originally aired on January 12, 2010.
