Watch The Interview From Backstage At Mountain Stage

Set List

  • "Highwayman"
  • "Oklahoma Nights"
  • "By the Time I Get to Phoenix"
  • "Moon's a Harsh Mistress"
  • "All I Know"
  • "Here, There And Everywhere" (performed by Bob Thompson)

Songwriting legend Jimmy Webb performs solo at the piano in his fourth appearance on Mountain Stage. Webb's latest, Just Across the River, is a collection of some of his best known songs reinterpreted with help from some musical luminaries like Vince Gill, Willie Nelson and Mark Knopfler, among many others.

Held in the highest regard by singers and songwriters such as James Taylor and Frank Sinatra, Webb has worked with some of the most enduring artists of his era. He sings his version of the number-one Country hit, "Highwayman," originally cut by Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, as well as some of his other lasting hits.

Pianist Bob Thompson concludes this set with his take on The Beatles tune, "Here, There And Everywhere."

This performance originally ran on Dec. 7, 2010.
