Set List
- "Afghan Forklift"
- "Stranded"
- "Turn a Blind Eye"
- "Camouflage"
- "I Just Can't Get Over You" (performed by Julie Adams and the Mountain Stage Band)
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Stan Ridgway performs songs from his ninth solo album, Neon Mirage, in his first appearance on Mountain Stage. Accompanied by Pietra Wexston on keyboard and Rick King on guitar, Ridgway also enlists violinist Tim O'Brien, the renowned roots musician and member of Hot Rize. Mountain Stage Band members Steve Hill on bass and Ammed Solomon on drums are also heard here.
Born in Barstow, Calif., Ridgway became interested in folk music at an early age. He released his first album, The Big Heat, in 1989 after leaving the band Wall of Voodoo, which released three albums in the early '80s and had an alternative hit with "Mexican Radio."
Ridgway's set closes with "Camouflage," an intriguing story-song from The Big Heat that became a hit in the U.K.
This segment concludes with vocalist Julie Adams and the Mountain Stage Band performing Julie Miller's "I Just Can't Get Over You."
This performance originally ran on December 16, 2010.
