STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

Andre Hall returned home in Pittsburgh to find a backhoe on his house. Not beside the house - on it. City contractors demolished his home by mistake. They were supposed to tear down the house next door, but tore down two instead. The contractor apparently had trouble following instructions. A letter from the city said of Andre Hall's house: Do not demolish. Mr. Hall said this is not the way I thought I would start off my new year.
