British singer-songwriter Bobby Long has been writing his keenly-crafted songs since taking up the guitar at age 16. After relocating from his native Wessex, he became a fixture at open-mic nights around London while attending university there. That's where he met future Twilight star Robert Pattinson. That connection led to a spot on the film's soundtrack and international recognition.

His EP, Dirty Pond Songs, climbed to the No. 8 spot on the folk charts in the U.K. and he released his debut LP, A Winter Tale, last month. You can hear Long perform on the World Cafe Live stage today at noon ET.
