Born in Neptune City, N.J., singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins began playing solo gigs at college in North Carolina. Soon after, she started gigging around New York's East Village. Described with adjectives like "fierce" and "big-lunged," there's a lot to enjoy from this laid-back rocking Jersey girl with her dark songs, especially the material on her latest full-length, Mondo Amore.
