Lost Bronx Zoo Cobra Tweets His Adventures

A 20-inch long female Egyptian cobra disappeared from the Bronx Zoo on Friday. Needless to say, in the intervening days, her whereabouts have been of some concern to zoo managers and no doubt to some New Yorkers.

MELISSA BLOCK, host:

Well, mystery solved. The cobra has appeared on Twitter. Her handle: Bronx Zoo's cobra. So, what's she been up to?

NORRIS: Earlier today, she tweeted this.

Unidentified Woman: Rockefeller Plaza is - wait. OMG, Tina Fey just walked by me. Huge fan.

BLOCK: There was also this query.

Unidentified Woman: I should take in a Broadway show. Anyone heard anything about the "Spiderman" musical?

BLOCK: She took time out for a practical joke.

Unidentified Woman: Holding very still at the snake exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. This is going to be hilarious.

BLOCK: She even grabbed dessert, tweeting...

Unidentified Woman: Enjoying a cupcake at Magnolia Bakery. This is going straight to my hips. Oh wait, I don't have hips. Yesssss.

BLOCK: As for tonight, the cobra is clearly trying to make the most of her adventure.

Unidentified Woman: Gonna listen to some jazz tonight. You know I love some great flute work.

(Soundbite of music)

Unidentified Woman: Do they provide it or is it bring-your-own basket?

BLOCK: Zoo officials say they're confident that the wayward snake is still somewhere inside the Bronx Zoo's reptile house. Right now it's the snake's game, says a spokesman. Our best strategy is patience.
