RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne with a reminder that it's not the size of the dog in the fight, even if the dog is a teacup poodle and its opponent is a bear. That was the scene a Washington State man encountered. A 200 pound black bear had wandered into Robert Carroll's backyard. And his poodle Schmoopy(ph) came to the rescue. According to the Kirkland Reporter, Schmoopy charged the bear, chasing it up a tree and over a fence.
