President Obama's motorcade came to a complete halt in Dublin Monday. The black limousine flying American flags was pulling through the gate of the U.S. Embassy when it got stuck on a speed bump. The heavily armored presidential car is not known as the "beast" for nothing.

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

Never mind the volcanic ash that forced President Obama to hurry out of Ireland. In Dublin, his motorcade came to a complete halt. The black limousine flying American flags was pulling through the gate of the U.S. Embassy to the cheers of crowds, when, with a loud scraping sound, it got stuck on a speed bump. The heavily armored presidential car is not known as the beast for nothing, though U.S. staff insisted this particular limo was just a decoy.

It's MORNING EDITION.
