Lou Rhodes, singer of the band Lamb, was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2006 for her solo album Beloved One. As a solo performer, she replaces the drum 'n' bass rhythms of Lamb with hand percussion, synthesizers and sequencers with Chinese violins and Tuvan guitars. Her "less is more" approach reveals an intimate portrait of an honest woman, a musician stripping away anything that would get in the way of baring her childlike imagination.

From indie favorites to Latin alternative, obscure pop to conscious hip hop, Santa Monica-based KCRW programs a free-form mix of live performances, video and playlist archives.
