Gloria Linares Accomplishes Marathon Goal
RENEE MONTAGNE, host:
Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.
The goal runner Gloria Linares set for herself was 50 by 60: a marathon in each state by the age of 60. And she made it on Saturday, clocking in at four hours and 20 minutes in a marathon in Alaska. Her four adult children flew into Anchorage to surprise her. The Long Island runner says she isn't done. She wants to run a marathon on every continent. She's managed North and South America and Europe. Next up: Antarctica.
It's MORNING EDITION.
