Young soul singer Lauren Pritchard brings her powerful vocals to Mountain Stage in support of her latest release, Wasted in Jackson. Already an accomplished vocalist at 23, Pritchard first visited Mountain Stage as a backing vocalist for signer-songwriter Duncan Sheik, and spent two years in the role of Ilse in the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening.

Born in Tennessee, Pritchard left her native Jackson for Los Angeles in her early teens before eventually relocating to London, England. For Wasted in Jackson, Prichard teamed up with acclaimed U.K. producer Eg White, whose credits include Adele, Pink and Duffy. Playing to a sold-out audience in Charleston, W. Va., Pritchard's throaty, soaring voice is accompanied by her own piano playing and Paul Sayer on guitar.

This segment originally aired on June 22nd, 2011.
