A 26-year-old Danish singer, Nanna Øland Fabricius was born in Copenhagen and raised by her opera-singing musician parents. Fabricius is a former student of the Royal Danish and Royal Swedish Ballet schools, and records these days under the name Oh Land. She also happens to have released one of the catchiest and most exciting singles of the year, "Son of a Gun." Others have caught on, too, and Fabricius has recently had the opportunity to open for the likes of Sia, OMD and Katy Perry.

After arriving at KEXP early in the morning, Fabricius and drummer Hans Hvidberg-Hansen performed an intimate and electrifying performance of the single and a few other offerings from her cinematic, self-titled electro-pop album. Perhaps most striking about the in-studio session, besides the fact that the duo was so well put together and so charming at such an early hour, was the pure happiness and joy Fabricius put into every verse. You can hear her enthusiasm throughout this session; it's the kind of uplifting, captivating performance you can't walk away from.
