At one point last month, Friendly Fires' Pala was the most played album at KCRW. Only a small group of artists each year manage to make it onto the radar of all of our DJs, with their wide variety of musical tastes, but Friendly Fires is clearly one of them. The U.K. band's new record, in particular, is so full of exuberant dance music that it's hard to ignore.

KCRW was the last stop on the group's U.S. tour, and the guys had stayed up pretty late the night before, but they still turned in an incredible performance, from the manic drumming of Jack Savidge to the falsetto vocals of Ed Macfarlane.
