Four-time Grammy winner David Holt is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. He began his career in Texas, but ended up in North Carolina, studying old-time Appalachian and traditional music with artists of the region.

Now based in Asheville, Holt performs some of his own compositions, inviting Laura Boosinger and Josh Goforth to perform with him. Mountain Stage Band drummer Ammed Solomon and bassist Steve Hill appear on the first three numbers. "Daybreak in Dixie" appears on David Holt & The Lightning Bolts, which he recorded with his group The Lightning Bolts, which also features Boosinger and Goforth.
