There's no drummer in The Devil Makes Three, but there sure are rhythms: The trio's two guitars and one bass play acoustic roots music with a relentless beat in mind at all times. Based in Santa Cruz, Calif., the band is all about whiskey-drenched, ramshackle fury — it may be unplugged, but it rocks with fiendish intensity. The title of The Devil Makes Three's newest album doubles as a mission statement for the ages: Do Wrong Right. The band unleashes its drum-free dance party at the 2011 Newport Folk Festival in Newport, R.I., on Saturday afternoon.
