Set List

  • "Little Lie"
  • "Little Red Boots"

Lindi Ortega's spirited songwriting and gorgeous whiskey-and-honey voice have earned her apt comparisons to country and rockabilly queens like Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Wanda Jackson.

Ortega says she caught the bug for music at a young age watching the vocalists who performed with her father, a bass player. "I was just mesmerized watching them on stage, and that gave me the early itch to want to do the same thing," she recalled in an interview on Weekend Edition Saturday.

She spent nearly a decade paying her dues in the Toronto independent music scene before signing a record deal that kickstarted her career and earned her, among other prestigious billings, a gig accompanying The Killers' Brandon Flowers on his recent solo tour. Ortega is currently headlining her own international tour in support of her latest album, Little Red Boots, released on Last Gang Records in June.
