Sept. 11 Then And Now, In One Word

No matter where you were, the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 made it a day filled with emotions. Many of you have told us what one word best describes how you felt that day, and what one word describes your emotions now. This graphic displays the connections between those words. Scroll over the words on the left to see the connections on the right, along with the number of people who made those connections.

Note:

For 2001, the graphic displays the top 35 words submitted by readers, along with the total number of readers who selected that word. For 2011, only words with multiple responses are displayed.
