Role in the company: Responsible for all marketing activities, along with creating business development partnerships and sales leads

First job: Cabana boy at Caesars Palace

Education: University of Memphis and University of Nevada Las Vegas

Other hobbies: Snowing and water skiing; stand-up paddle boarding; coaching little league baseball in his spare time. Once played professional football in Europe.

Best thing about working for a startup: "The rush of the highs and picking yourself back up through the lows. You are your own boss and get to make decisions that are your own. The success of the company rides on your shoulders and the decisions you make."

Chad Reed, the chief marketing officer for Bluebox Now, began his work career as a cabana boy. He became a brand manager for Red Bull and recently served as director of field marketing and sales for a firm that was acquired by Groupon.

A former college quarterback who played a year of football in Europe, Reed won a championship game with a Hail Mary pass.

He has a passion for sports and coaching. In his spare time, he volunteers as a little league coach. The 35-year-old Reed and his brother recently opened a restaurant, the Roll On Sushi Diner, in Austin, Texas.
