Some Pro Baseball Teams Restrict Energy Drinks
STEVE INSKEEP, host: Okay, let's talk about baseball's most recently banned substance, energy drinks like Red Bull and Monster.
DAVID GREENE, host: A story in today's USAToday says some major league teams are discouraging their players from consuming these drinks. Other teams have actually banned the drinks from clubhouse refrigerators.
INSKEEP: Here's the reason: A fear the drinks will contribute to dehydration and other side-effects. All of which caused an Arizona Diamondbacks' pitcher to ask: What are they going to ban next, coffee, soft drinks? Who knows?
