Cranberry-Honey Smoothie
Perhaps it's because I live in San Diego, but I drink smoothies year-round, especially pre-workout. With its distinctive tartness, cranberry sauce makes a ho-hum smoothie suddenly sassy. If you want to use whey or soy protein powder, then add the desired amount.
Makes 1 serving
1 cup rice, soy, almond or regular 2 percent milk
1/4 cup leftover cranberry sauce
1/2 medium banana
1 to 2 teaspoons honey
1/4 cup ice cubes, optional
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 15 seconds, or until thick and frothy. If you like it thinner, then simply add a bit of water.
