Double Take 'Toons: Looking Back At August 2011

It's been a tumultuous and exciting year. To mark its end, NPR Double Take will be recapping the biggest news events, going month by month to bring you the best cartoons on the issues.

In August Mike Keefe argued that the debt deal did not provide the relief expected. Soon after it was signed into law, the earth moved fiscally and physically when Standard & Poors reduced its rating on U. S. bonds and a 5.8 earthquake shook the eastern seaboard, Steve Kelley felt both actions were overrated.
