Primary Calendar, Delegate Tracker And What's At Stake In Each State
Republican primaries and caucuses extend through June 26. To win the nomination, a presidential candidate must secure 1,144 delegates, a simple majority of those available. The Republican National Committee designed the calendar and apportionment rules this year to slow the process down, so more states play a role. Here's a look at the primary calendar, what's happened so far, and the number of delegates awarded or at stake in each state.

NPR's delegate tracker is following the results tracked by the web site The Green Papers. This site has provided a detailed compilation of the delegate selection events and processes, providing a precise count of both "committed" and "uncommitted" delegates.
Note
The Green Papers also calculates a "soft" delegate count based on its estimate of potential delegate support for each contender. To view that and more details of its counts, visit http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/R.Comments
