Rarely has an artist grown in stature at KCRW faster than Michael Kiwanuka. The 23-year-old North London native, born to working-class Ugandan immigrants, has yet to release a full-length album, though his debut album Home Again comes out in March. Based on two stellar EPs, Kiwanuka was handpicked by Adele to open a large chunk of dates on her recent tour, many of which were later canceled due to her vocal-cord issues. Consequently, Kiwanuka only recently made his first appearances in the U.S., with select dates in New York and Los Angeles.

Along the way, we were pleased to capture his first-ever U.S. radio performance on KCRW.
