This week, producing Alt.Latino felt a little like squeezing into a very tiny shoe. As we prepare to head out to two major music festivals, SXSW in Austin, Tex. and Vive Latino in Mexico City, the sheer volume of music we're going to hear in the next two weeks is overwhelming.

We're looking forward to seeing some pretty iconic bands onstage (Café Tacvba, Molotov), and some musicians we love but have never gotten the chance to check out. I'm very excited to see the Chilean band Astro, Francisca Valenzuela (we're premiering her new video "Esta Soy Yo" below) and Mexican singer Carla Morrison. And there are bands we hadn't heard of before they were announced for these festivals, such as Colombian dance rockers Mr. Bleat or Felix's new favorite, Hey Chica!

Today's show is a bit of an appetizer — the tip of the iceberg, really. If you aren't already heading down south for some good music, we encourage you to browse the festivals' websites. As always, we look forward to your comments. Which band is a must-see? Who would you like to see onstage?
