The bluegrass and Americana band Bearfoot makes its first-ever appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, W.V. Now based in Nashville, Bearfoot has roots in Alaska, where fiddle player Angela Oudean and mandolin player Jason Norris made their home. They added fellow Alaskan Todd Grebe on vocal and guitar, and before long were racking up awards across the country.

After undergoing several lineup changes, award-winning singer-songwriter Nora Jane Struthers and bassist P.J. George (both of The Bootleggers) joined the group, and Bearfoot has been getting bigger ever since. The band's sound has evolved to include more Americana flavors, which are in full display during "Come Get Your Lonesome," a roadhouse honky-tonk song disguised as a bluegrass tune. Bearfoot's newest album is American Story.
