Double Take 'Toons: September 2013

It's been a tumultuous and exciting year. To mark its end, NPR Double Take will be recapping the biggest news events, going month by month to bring you the best cartoons on the issues.

The Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shootings and a cut in SNAP (food stamps) funding were among the top stories. Jimmy Margulies reminded us that nothing had changed since Newtown, while Mike Smith assailed the cut as a missing-piece meal solution to hunger in America.
