Massachusetts Lawmakers Approve Minimum Wage Hike
RENEE MONTAGNE, HOST:
NPR's Business News starts with a wage hike. Lawmakers in Massachusetts have approved an increase in the minimum wage that will make it the highest of any state in the country. The state's minimum wage will rise to $9 an hour next year and reach $11 in three years. In a statement yesterday, President Obama urged Congress to follow suit and raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10.
