Our fans and supporters are the reason NPR is the organization we are today. Your support, both to NPR and our Member Stations across the United States, has allowed us to thrive for 42 years. I joined NPR a little over two years ago, and was really struck by the level of passion in our fans. It was humbling to join such a rich legacy, and hear your stories. I listened, learned, and was inspired to find new ways to bring you into the NPR experience and give you a sense of what it's like to work at NPR.
We wanted to find more ways to connect with you, and social media became a new platform for our discussion. We found social media to be a great way to make you aware of job opportunities across public radio, expose you to #NPRlife, and give you a look 'behind the mic' to see what it's like to work here. We began this effort in June 2011 when we launched @NPRjobs. The account has grown to over 18,000 followers, and we've had some great discussions along the way.

Now we are adding another platform, this blog, to share content and insights into a variety of career-related topics at NPR. With an expectation to post two to three times a month, we'll share Q&A's with hiring managers, updates on key searches and initiatives, #NPRTwitterChat, internship announcements, and more. We're also going to experiment with photos, video, chats, and other ways to share the NPR experience. It will be fun, we promise.
What do you want to see on this blog? What do you want to talk about? Tweet us at @NPRjobs and let us know. Let's keep chatting.
