February 17, 2014; Milwaukee, WI – Ask Me Another, public radio's rambunctious quiz show led by its irresistible host of hosts Ophira Eisenberg, is heading (Mid)west. The program, which airs weekly on WUWM 89.7, will tape in front of a live audience at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Tickets for the event go on sale to the public this Friday at www.pabsttheater.org, by phone at (414) 286-3663, and from box offices at The Pabst Theater and The Riverside Theater (hours and location information available here).
Ophira and the show's fiendishly clever puzzle gurus invite guests and listeners alike to stretch their noggins, tickle their funny bones and be serenaded by house musicianJonathan Coulton, while enjoying a tasty, local beverage, of course. In Milwaukee, Ask Me Another will also feature a special VIP (Very Important Puzzler), who won't leave the stage before answering an oh-so-personal round of brain-bending trivia. This celebrity puzzle hot seat has tested the wits and egos of designer Jonathan Adler, comedian W. Kamau Bell, actor Justin Long, Goosbumps author R.L. Stine, musician Ian MacKaye, and co-creator of The Daily Show Lizz Winstead, among others.
Besides the celebrity guests, regular contestants test their mettle in a variety of games involving trivia, word puzzles, music, and pop culture. Would-be-contenders, who think they have what it takes to compete in a live round of trivia during the show, should email firstname.lastname@example.org with "Milwaukee Contestant" in the subject line.
Since its launch, Ask Me Another's regular tapings have become one of New York's staple entertainment offerings, making it a headliner at Central Park's famed SummerStagefestival. The show also tapes in cities around the U.S. and took the stage this month as NPR's first program to perform at the SketchFest comedy festival in San Francisco. A schedule of upcoming dates and tickets is available at amatickets.org.
