March 5, 2014; Washington, D.C. – NPR Music and partner public radio stations gather in Austin once again for what has become an annual carnival of music around the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference. Fanning out across the city, NPR Music is offering nonstop coverage, live music and broadcasts of can't-miss performances, available to those with wristbands and those without at npr.org/sxsw, through NPR Music mobile apps and on-air from public radio stations across the country.
A one-stop-shop for NPR Music's extensive coverage, npr.org/sxsw is the hub for live music, daily highlights, videos, photos, podcasts and the just-released Austin 100, a streaming and fully-downloadable, 100-song sampler of NPR Music's picks for bands to discover this year at SXSW. All Songs Considered co-hosts Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton, and writer/editor Stephen Thompson will offer the latest news and insights about the festival, online and via @allsongs and @nprmusic. Alt.Latino co-hosts Jasmine Garsd and Felix Contreras also return to Austin for another year to celebrate the debut of SXAmericas (Alt.Latino is heard locally in Austin on KUT3 and KUTX.org).
Public radio is hosting live performances for audiences at SXSW and on screens everywhere, including NPR Music's official SXSW showcase at Stubb's and the Public Radio Day Stage Showcase hosted by stations from around the country. NPR Music's Alt.Latino DJs at SXAmericas' Opening-Night Party

Hosts Felix Contreras and Jasmine Garsd spin music at the official kickoff to SXAmericas, a series of events geared to connect U.S. Latino and Latin American technology, music and film industry thought leaders. Mexican actor Diego Luna will make opening remarks and New York's DJ Kazzanova will also spin at the afternoon event, presented by SBS Radio and Aire Radio Networks at the West Tent in Brush Square Park.
