Well, it was my idea. In the beginning, I wanted to openly debate the state of journalism and broadcasting today and yet do so through someone who was deeply committed to becoming part of the solution, instead of just pointing out problems. My columnist was to be someone in school and not afraid to lay it all out there for people to read. Now, times have changed. My one time 19 year old college student is now a full-time production assistant for NPR.
Martina disappeared for a while, but now she’s back. We hope she prompts you to write and comment. If not, that's OK too. We aren't here to provoke, just talk.
