Ariel Kitch

All Things Considered
Ariel Kitch grew up outside of Portland, Oregon. She started in radio at the Whitman College station, running a weekly hip-hop show and producing short documentary pieces on the side. After graduating with a degree in politics, an interest in narrative and documentary work led her to enroll at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies this fall, where she followed a pair of Seventh Day Adventists missionaries door to door before heading to NPR. At All Things Considered, she’s been enjoying the faster pace of a news room, where she talks to the most interesting assortment of people each day in order to book interviews.
Audio work has led her to neglect paper and ink, but she can typically be seen scratching away during meetings at sketches. A child of mass transit, she enjoys nothing better than sitting and staring out the windows of moving cars, buses, and trains. She often can be found attached to a book, her headphones or a cup of coffee.
