NPR Interns
Summer 2002
Washington, DC

Erica Phillips
Erica Phillips is an undergraduate music student at Barnard College in New York City, where she studies the flute and hosts classical music radio programs for her school's station. She'll graduate in 2003 as a music major with minors in sociology and economics, and hopes to work for a year or two in a music-related field before applying to graduate school.

When she's not studying, working, or rehearsing with her klezmer band, Erica enjoys spending time with her friends and exploring the city. Her favorite movie has always been Reality Bites; she's a big fan of Amy Tan, and loves Japanese food. She grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia with her two wonderful parents and lovely older sister. The websites she visits most frequently include onion.com and nytimes.com, and her favorite radio stations include Philadelphia's WRTI and New York's WKCR. Erica is having a great time this summer as an intern for NPR's Performance Today.
