2001 PRC Next Generation Radio Participants


Lauren Dixon
A senior at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, Lauren is currently a producer of a weekend public affairs program called "C-trends" at C89.5FM. She's been on the radio in the Seattle area since 1993. Let's see...doing the math...she's been on the air since she was 9 or 10 years old!

John Duffell
A sophomore at Nathan Hale High School, John is the student music director at C89.5FM, KNHC in Seattle. He regularly produces and voices overnight voice tracks for the radio station.

Rem Roberti
Rem Roberti
Currently a freshman at North Seattle Community College, Rem studies English and Computer Information Systems. He is a supervisor and the assistant webmaster for C89.5fm, at Nathan Hale High School. Rem has a lot of on-air and production experience. In 1998, he won a California public speaking award.
 
Lisa Whalen
Elizabeth Whalen
Elizabeth is originally from Seattle. She attends Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, and was in the DC area last semester working as a journalism intern at the Student Press Law Center. At school, she is a news editor for "The Observer" and copy editor for a student-run engineering magazine.
 
Rob Ballenger
Rob Ballenger
Rob began his broadcast career at Virginia Tech, and graduated in 1999. He's been teaching journalism at Seattle University's Department of Communications Studies, and volunteers as a reporter for KUOW-FM, Seattle. Rob has reported for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
 
Dana Falk
Dana Falk
Dana has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and is interested in freelance cultural reporting and short documentaries. She assisted Dan Collison on Lincoln Ave Motels and interned with Tish Valva on WBEZ's Eight Forty-Eight. Dana has also written a kid's study guide for Stacy Abramson and Dave Isay's The Jewish Giant. She's currently a News Volunteer at KUOW-Seattle.
 
Katherine Keys
Katherine Keys
Katherine is a senior at the University of Oregon, getting her degree in journalism, and a minor in Spanish. Katherine has done camera work for a weekly television show, independently filmed events on campus, produced and edited video for professors, interned in New York City with a media advocacy group, produced, edited and DJed for the University of Oregon radio station, and written for the campus newspaper.
