Well, it was my idea. In the begining, I wanted to openly debate the state of journalism and broadcasting today and yet do so through someone who was deeply committed to becoming part of the solution, instead of just pointing out problems. My columnist was to be someone in school and not afraid to lay it all out there for people to read. So far, I think we done that.

Maria-Martina (Martina, please) Castro is a DC area native who graduated from Amherst College in May of 2004. This column has gone from thoughts and reflections of a young college student to someone who reflects (and often represents) her generation. Martina has been writing for me (at no cost) for over two years. Along the way we've followed her to Spain and Uruguay, protest rallies, turning 21, war discussions, college graduation, job hunting and uh...more job hunting. As for me, I learn too. Old dogs, new tricks..or is that "Mad Dogs and Englishmen?" Feelin' Alright?

I digress...we hope she prompts you to write and comment. If not, that's OK too. We aren't here to provoke, just think.
