Talk of the Nation and Science Friday from NPR News Broadcast Live from Kansas City September 28 & 29, 2000
Kansas City, MO.-Talk of the Nation® from
NPR News will take a closer look at America's changing workplace and
workforce during a live broadcast forum on Thursday, September 28 from
Science City at Union Station. Host Juan Williams will welcome Hallmark CEO
Irvine O. Hockady, Jr., Sprint Corporation Senior Vice President I. Benjamin
Watson and other guests to discuss evolving corporate America and its role
in the Kansas City community and the nation.
NPR's midday call-in program Talk of the
Nation is traveling to cities and towns across America for monthly radio
broadcasts before live audiences. These forums will occur in conjunction
with programming on NPR's flagship newsmagazines, Morning Edition® with Bob
Edwards and All Things Considered®. Entitled The Changing Face of America,
the special program series is supported by a grant from The Pew Charitable
Trusts.
On Friday, September 29, NPR's Science
Friday® will examine the ongoing local debate regarding controlled floods
along the Missouri River, as well as Kansas City's mining industry and its
effect on the City's commercial development initiatives. Special guests
from Kansas City will join Host Ira Flatow to discuss these important
issues.
The Talk of the Nation and Science Friday
broadcasts will air live in Kansas City on NPR member station KCUR 89.3 FM.
