NPR Worldwide Expands To Madrid, Spain Via New Station, Radio Interamericana

Washington, DC - NPR Worldwidesm, NPR's steadily growing overseas service, will extend its reach to Madrid on a new station called Radio Interamericana, which launches on Tuesday, September 26th, 2000. NPR's flagship newsmagazines Morning Edition® with Bob Edwards and All Things Considered® will air weekdays live from Washington. Radio Interamericana, launched by Madrid broadcaster Radio Intereconomia, will offer a range of English-language news, business, sports and entertainment content 24-hours-a-day at 100.3 FM.

Morning Edition with Bob Edwards will air between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. local time in Madrid, and All Things Considered will air from 10 p.m. to midnight.

A reception celebrating the launch of Radio Interamericana will take place in Madrid on Tuesday, September 26 at 8 p.m. at the Hotel Villamagna (Paseo de la Castellana, 22).

NPR Worldwide programming is also available throughout Spain via satellite and short wave. Specific information about tuning into NPR Worldwide is available at www.npr.org/worldwide.
