AIRS WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 6
DURING TALK OF THE NATION

Washington, D.C.; December 4, 2006 – NPR News will offer a one-hour live special on Wednesday December 6 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm ET to discuss and analyze the report from the Iraq Study Group, to be released on Wednesday to President Bush, the U.S. Congress and the public.

Talk of the Nation host Neal Conan will moderate the discussion with several guests involved in the study.

The special will air on all 279 NPR member stations that carry the first hour of Talk of the Nation and is available free to all other member stations as an NPR News special broadcast.

The special broadcast continues NPR News tradition of producing special programming for important news, including nine consecutive hours of live election night coverage of the mid-term elections, President Bush’s press conference announcing Donald Rumsfeld’s resignation, and the confirmation hearings of Samuel Alito and John Roberts to the Supreme Court as well as the upcoming hearings for Robert Gates to be Secretary of Defense.
