NPR MUSIC LIVE WEBCASTS TEN CONCERTS

July 10, 2008; Washington, D.C. Ė NPR Music is live webcasting more than five hours of live music from 10 musicians performing at the 2008 XPoNential Music Festival, an annual festival of new and established artists presented by NPR Member station WXPN in Philadelphia. The concerts from the festivalís two stages will be streamed live on Friday, July 11 beginning at 4:30PM (ET) on NPR Music: www.NPR.org/music

British singer-songwriter Beth Orton headlines the evening on the festivalís main stage. Also on the line-up are The Brakes (5:00PM); Dar Williams (6:00PM); Chuck Prophet (7:10PM); and Alejandro Escovedo (8:20PM). NPR will also webcast performances from a second stage at the festival, which will feature performances by Kuf Knotz & The Hustle (4:30PM); The Refugees (5:30PM); Jim Bianco (6:40PM); War on Drugs (7:50PM); and The Redwalls (9:00PM).

All performances from the main stage will be archived for on-demand listening at www.NPR.org/music Hosting the concerts are WXPN on-air personalities, including WORLD CAFEģ host David Dye; afternoon host Jim McGuinn; mid-day host Helen Leicht; and morning host Michaela Majoun.

WXPN, a nationally-recognized leader in Triple A music, is the non-commercial, member-supported radio service of the University of Pennsylvania. The 15th annual XPoNential Music Festival runs from Thursday, July 10 to Sunday, July 13 on the Camden Waterfront in New Jersey. Ticket information is at: www.xpn.org

NPR Music frequently live webcasts rock, pop and indie concerts as part of its continuing ďLive in ConcertĒ series, which has featured more than 100 live events to date. In March, NPR Music and WXPN traveled to Austin, TX, to live webcast and broadcast 14 concerts from the influential music festival South by Southwest, among them R.E.M., My Morning Jacket, Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver and Yo La Tengo.
