NPR MUSIC APP GETS NEW LOOK, ADDS BLOGS, ONE-TAP NAVIGATION: NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE IN iTUNES APP STORE

The App music fans love at first listen is making an encore.

Today, NPR Music released an upgraded and redesigned version of its popular App for iPhone and iPod Touch, available for free in the App Store. The NPR Music App now features swipe-based navigation on its home screen, offering one-tap access to the site’s programs, popular series like Tiny Desk Concerts and favorite music streams. All five NPR Music blogs are also newly available in the App, joining the most current live performances, interviews, signature programs and series, exclusive first listens to unreleased albums, an extensive artist directory and live station streams.

Everyone who downloads or upgrades the NPR Music App will receive a free 12-song music sampler of NPR Music's favorite new artists of 2010, for download at the iTunes store. The multi-genre mix, selected by the NPR Music editorial staff, includes Aloe Blacc’s "You Make Me Smile," Sharon Van Etten's "One Day" and Rita Indiana & Los Misterios on “El Juidero.”
