HENN JOINS NATIONAL DESK JANUARY 2
"Steve has consistently distinguished himself as a top reporter on the technology beat," says NPR Deputy National Editor Uri Berliner. "He makes technology news accessible and compelling both on the radio and online."
Henn is currently the technology and innovation reporter for American Public Media's Marketplace. He has been honored with several journalism awards, including a Gracie award for his coverage of women's issues in the workplace, an Edward R. Murrow for national investigative reporting, several Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) awards and was part of the team that won a Peabody at Marketplace in 2000.
The addition of Henn to NPR's National Desk enhances the organization's commitment to covering the fast-growing and evolving technology sector. His reporting combined with that of Laura Sydell, NPR's digital culture correspondent – who focuses on the ways technology is transforming society's culture – allows NPR to offer audiences a greater insight on the impact of technology on their lives.
NPR is an award-winning, multimedia news organization and an influential force in American life. In collaboration with more than 900 independent public radio stations nationwide, NPR strives to create a more informed public – one challenged and invigorated by a deeper understanding and appreciation of events, ideas and cultures.
