Genre-defining (and -bending) group Café Tacvba headlines a showcase hosted by NPR Music's Alt.Latino founders Jasmine Garsd and Felix Contreras and KUT's Michael Crockett. The band is joined by the politically charged band Molotov and the tango-fusion collective Bajofondo.
Several NPR Music public radio station partners are also hosting many of their own concerts and events. On Friday, March 15 at noon (CT), KUTX-Austin, KXT-Dallas, WXPN-Philadelphia, WFUV-New York, and Minnesota Public Radio's The Current join together for Public Radio Rocks the SXSW Day Stage. At the Austin Convention Center, Vampire Weekend tops an all-star bill that also includes Iron & Wine, Divine Fits, Charles Bradley, Pickwick, Dawes and Emmylou Harris with Rodney Crowell. Listen live by tuning in to the presenting stations and find more Member Station SXSW events at npr.org/sxsw.
