NPR Audio Help
Once you have downloaded a player, the first time you try to play NPR audio, a screen will appear asking you to select your preferred player, Real or Windows Media. Make your choice and your browser will remember your preference and attempt to use that player when possible. Remember: NPR audio from before Feb. 1, 2003 is only available with a Real player.
If Windows Media is your preferred player, and you request audio created before Feb. 1, you will have the option of listening with a Real player. If you don't have a Real player installed, you will need to download one. Using the Real player for older NPR audio will not affect your player preference. You will continue to hear newer material with the Windows Media player.
