Highlights

The challenge: Write, record, and perform a song in the NPR studios using inspiration from objects of our choosing.  Oh, and you have only 48 hours.  And we’re going to film your entire creative process, too.

The contenders to date: cult-phenom singer songwriter Stephin Merritt; D.C. pop duo Georgie James; quirky multi-instrumentalist Nellie McKay, and more.

The result: Project Song, an online video documentary series from NPR Music’s All Songs Considered that explores and celebrates the song writing process and introduces original music crafted by today’s most exciting artists.
