Evolution, Bacteria And The Medicine We All Rely On

As Marcelo's post yesterday demonstrates, we here at 13.7 Cosmos and Culture are looking to define new directions in the discussion of human spirituality and science. Jumping on the old antagonisms is not really our bag.

Any attempts, however, to make evolution anything less than what it is — a triumph of the human spirit and the human intellect — makes us very, very unhappy.

To that end we provide this link to a great PBS program on evolution and antibiotics. The behavior of those critters that make us sick year in and year out, and their response to our attacks on their health, provides an obvious and intimate example of evolution.
